Approach

Through safety and vulnerability, we create a place to challenge ideas and connect individuals with an aim towards team building and self development.

Focal Point believes in fair and equitable treatment within a place of work. It takes a team to carry out a job; each member should feel seen and heard in their individual experiences. Through education, discussion, and application, we aid work places by increasing understanding and empowering their individuals.

Purpose and Objectives

1. Increasing Understanding, Unity and Retention

Race, sexuality, gender, religion, ability and other identities impact the way we navigate life. Differing identities lead to differing ideals. Ignorance of disparities can lead to work place harm and harassment.

Working to create a more equitable environment will eliminate discrimination and oppression. This innately improves workplace satisfaction, team unity, and overall retention.

2. Creating Inclusive and Innovative Spaces

Open-mindedness and humility are key values in creating inclusive spaces. Valuing everyone's voice equally leads to an inclusive environment that allows innovative ideas to come from anyone. We help bring understanding to how implicit bias, outdated systems and/or policies may impact your ability to value individual voices.

Training Layouts

Keynote Presentations

Through the art of story telling, large group engagement, and introspection keynote presentations offer a combination of education, enlightenment, and motivation. These trainings are a good starter to creating change within your organizations culture and environment. Highlighting different perspectives and harmful practices can inspire conversation and elevate awareness of needs surrounding DEI.

Workshops

Conversations surrounding DEI are uncomfortable. Challenging perspective is never an easy process. Workshops offer a safe environment for participants to be vulnerable and interactive with each other’s lived experiences. Workshops are key in offering the perfect balance between education and social engagement. Since DEI is a social science, workshops allow us the space to dive deep into education, conversation, and relationship building.

Whether it is with leadership, committees, or individual employees consultation is effective at targeting specific needs within your organization. We use our knowledge and expertise to work with you on specific conflicts, incidents, or goals surrounding your organization’s DEI needs.

Group or Individual Consultation

Our trainings are individually crafted to your organization’s needs. Through consultation and survey we gather information about the experiences, conflicts, efforts and potential harm within your organization. This allows us to provide trainings that are targeted to your demographic and the most productive with everyone’s time.
